Here's the table for our first foray into mac and cheese, light style. Oh dear, red AGAIN????
Believe it or not...these are the same flowers I used
for Easter... with a little tweaking... 
I love these white dishes...I thought they'd could be used as plates OR platters (and who can't use more platters!).
Won't this be perfect for the planned menu?
The edge on these plates is so pretty...it's what caught my eye in the store
I am going to make the mac and cheese in this cute ramekin. They come with lids and are oven-safe
This little server will be great for custard...one of my husband's favorites!

Now for the dish on the dishes:
- Those white platters/plates were a find at TJMaxx...I should have bought more!!
- The ramekins and square dish are Temp-tations "Old World" in cranberry. I have several pieces and it is WONDERFUL to use (got them on QVC)
- Red placemats from TJM
- Damask napkins from ebay
- Silverplate flatware was my mother's
- Glasses are Waterford's Marquis line
- The flowers are in a Paul Revere silverplate bowl...love that shape

ReplyDeleteDid you watch the royal wedding? I did -- wasn't it great? The Brits know how to pull out all the stops for a ceremonial occasion. Your table looks so pretty. I love the Revere bowl; I'm just now starting to really appreciate silver. Your little ramekins and server are so cute, and I hope your mac 'n cheese is a big hit with your hubby! We definitely like it at our house.

I'm glad you are a fan of "Summer Solstice". You won't believe this, but the last few years, I have re-read it every December because it's such a cozy, holiday book with a really nice story.
I'm with you on the princess's hats. What a hoot!! You'd think there would be a milliner out there who would have told Beatrice "I don't think this is the look you need". Seriously? My husband said it looked like Mickey Mouse ears (and it really did from the back); but the funniest was my sister who said she looked like a Who from Whoville in "How the Grinch stole Christmas". I laughed for two days!

Lovely table! I like how you have used the platter as a dinner plate. It really gives the ramekin room and still leaves an area for the other items on the menu.
ReplyDeleteI am a big fan of Temptations myself and have the little square servers, in green. I don't have the little ramekins and think this might be a glaring hole in my collection that needs to be fixed!
